The Teach Portsmouth Jobs and Opportunities Fair returns to Portsmouth Guildhall on Wednesday 26 February 2025, from 10am to 2pm.
You'll have the chance to meet exhibitors, watch presentations on trending topics, explore the latest vacancies on the jobs board, and sign up to taster sessions.
1. Do your research and ask questions
If this is your first time at a Teach Portsmouth event, take some time to review the exhibitors.
We continue to add more organisations weekly that include schools, academies, adult education providers, Portsmouth City Council services and employment specialists.
While we are still confirming exhibitors for the big day, you can see a current list of exhibitors along with information about who they are and what jobs, training and volunteering opportunities they have on offer.
2. Come prepared
It can be useful to think about any qualifications, experience and skills you have that are relevant to working in a school or college.
It's not a requirement to bring a CV, but if you would find it useful to reference during any conversations you have with exhibitors, please bring it along.
A wide range of vacancies will be displayed on the jobs board at the event, as well as information on training courses, apprenticeships and taster sessions too.3. Plan a visit to the Opportunities Room
The Opportunities Room will host a series of presentations throughout the event to support you into training or employment. Check the presentation schedule and time your visit to coincide with any talks you're interested in attending.
This year's topics include:- Unlock your confidence before applying for a job
- Supercharge your employability skills
- Become a teaching assistant
- Your path to becoming a teacher
- Supporting international professionals into UK employment
- Supporting pupils with special educational needs
- From volunteer to professional: Steps into a career in education
4. Sign up to taster sessions
Participating employers will be offering taster sessions. These sessions give you a chance to visit a specific school or organisation, have a tour, meet staff and learn more about working there before you apply.
This can be a great first step if you lack confidence or experience in the workplace. You'll be able to sign up for taster sessions when you visit participating employers at their stand.Don't miss out - get your free ticket today!
